Kettlebell Run

You guys are seriously awesome. I cannot thank you enough for all of your support as I go through the Whole 30 challenge! If I could give each and every one of you a hug, I definitely would!

If I could think of a perfect Monday “workday”…today would be it. Although I drove an hour to my new rotation, I was only there for 30 minutes before my boss told me to just come in tomorrow morning and we’ll really begin. So I was back home by 9:30 this morning! I’ll take it!

Since I wasn’t exactly sure where I was going this morning or what my day was going to entail, my breakfast was made super simple and packable! It certainly wasn’t the prettiest or most photogenic meal, but it was still nutritious and filling!

I went ahead and prepped breakfast last night while dinner was cooking away last night! I sliced up some yellow squash, had roasted kabocha squash, and three mushroom-cabbage frittatas! I love raw squash!

Can I interest anyone in some blue eggs?
I store my frittatas in the fridge in a ziplock bag with a paper towel on the bottom and top, but my cabbage turned blue overnight! Don’t worry, they were still good!

Today was supposed to be a rest day, but my week ahead has some plans that I had to do a bit of rearranging. So, I went to the gym to complete my 5 miles that was on the schedule for tomorrow.

I went at a time that I thought would be a “non-peak” time so I wouldn’t break that 30 minute rule, but I swear my gym is always busy! Instead of breaking the rules today, I completed a fun kettlebell run! I did 2.5 miles, a 100-rep kettlebell workout, and finished the last 2.5 miles.

I have been wanting to do some more strength work, but my hand has put me out of commission! I was happy I could finally get in a great full body workout with kettlebells!

Here are a few links to the exercises above:

For the kettlebell windmill, I alternated rounds with each side.

Since I was home for my midday meal, I saved my packed up lunch for tomorrow! Instead, Meg from A Dash Of Meg posted a photo of her breakfast on Instagram, which inspired my lunch!

I combined spinach and broccoli slaw with ground turkey and salsa, which got topped off with a dunkin’ egg. On the side I had roasted butternut squash.

I’m not usually a “meat for breakfast” kind of person, but this was so good I actually may break out of my shell!

Questions Of The Day

Do you have meat for breakfast?

Would you eat blue eggs?

What is your perfect workday?
