Daily Grind

I’m baaaaaack!!! Did ya miss me?? I certainly missed you blog loves!

After a week of relaxing on the beautiful beaches of St. Martin, it was hard to get up and return to the daily grind this morning. I know returning to work a little later today will prove to be just as difficult! But, it will be nice to get back to a routine. I certainly do like having my usual routines!

Workout

Since I’m starting back in the daily grind, it was back to the marathon training program. While in St. Martin I made a couple trips to the gym where I did a little running, but mainly focused on strength training. 

I was a little worried that the run wouldn’t go so well since it had been a week since I had really devoted any time to the treadmill. Thankfully, it ended up being a great run! I took it easy at a 6.7 speed for 7 miles. It felt so good to get a good sweat in this morning!

Breakfast

I had one thing on my mind this morning: Green Berry Pancakes!

I topped my pancakes with almond butter and banana slices.
Did you know that it is impossible to find any kind of nut butter over seas?
As soon as we got back I may have definitely indulged in some spoonfuls of almond butter….and peanut butter….right out of the jar! :)

Mmm so good!
It was exactly what I was craving! Got some fresh fruit, veggies, protein, whole grains, and healthy fats in to kick start a great week of getting back to the real world!
